As the last few days in this decade remain, I’m reflecting on the past year in eager anticipation of the next. 2019 was a year of change for me, finishing a career in Travel IT and moving on to one in travel and hospitality with my own company, seaskipr.com.

Last year I swapped an aeroplane for a yacht as my main mode of transport and skippered yachts to many destinations on the south coast of England and Northern & Atlantic France. An incredible experience!

I achieved my Yachtmaster qualification and met a bunch of amazing new friends along the way. Much of the Summer was dedicated to preparing my boat for chartering and operation and establishing our accommodation brand locally on the Island.

I ran a number of trips onboard Katerok, our yacht before the weather finally closed in and now I’m marketing actively for the 2020 season. Forever busy, completely happy and focused now on delivering a world class experience onboard for our customers in 2020.

Looking forward to 2020, we have scheduled a series of day trips to Osea Island and Rowhedge, two beautiful areas within our cruising ground in the Rivers Blackwater and Colne. There are many events on the water in 2020 such as the Mersea and Rowhedge Regattas and the Clacton Airshow and we hope you can join us to experience the best of life on the waters of Essex. We also offer our fully appointed accommodation in the heart of the village and are planning further units for 2020 allowing you to make the most of a stay on Mersea Island.

Our yacht, Katerok, accommodates 5 passengers, on deck and down below in the cabin, with facilities for your comfort onboard. Full safety equipment is provided with Katerok rated for Category D Inshore Waters. Your safety and enjoyment is my number one priority :)

I’m incredibly excited about 2020, the new year, the new opportunities and meeting new people.
